Pronounced “roy-boss,” rooibos is rich in naturally occurring nutrients and is caffeine free. Rooibos is grown high in the mountains of South Africa. Their name means “Redbush Tea” because the leaves develop a reddish-brown color during their oxidation process.
Rooibos is a full-bodied base for both soothing and invigorating flavor. From fruity bouquets that energize as much as they soothe, to citrine profiles capable of extending subtle tastes well past what’s expected, rooibos aids in creating the final rounding taste in a bouquet of flavor.
Try our Blood Orange Rooibos for a delightful addition to your daily routine, or our Lemon Myrtle and Lavender Lemon Chiffon for evening relaxation.
In South Africa it was once substituted for expensive, imported black teas, and is generally enjoyed with milk and sugar.
Preparation is very easy: it is best steeped in water just off the boil for 8 to 10 minutes. Green and chai varieties are also available.
