The Hindi word for tea, Chai is known as a strong spicy tea traditionally served with milk and sugar.
The blend of spices varies by household and/or region, but generally includes some combination of cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, cloves, and vanilla. Masala Chai is our most popular blend, consisting of ginger, cardamom and cinnamon.
Traditionally, the variations of Chai feature Assam as the base tea. Also try our Green and Herbal Chai selections.
Simple Chai Recipe:
2c milk, 1tbsp Chai. Bring to a boil covered and then simmer very low for 5 minutes. Strain and sweeten to taste. Experiment with different spice combinations at different times of the year.
